Do you have big bashes during the summer months? Gather up the neighborhood for block parties? Invite some close friends for a summer solstice celebration? Attend family reunions? Give the kids a birthday bash?
Let's hear it!

We're starting our "summer" party season with a sort of party/conference for unschooling families, the LIFE is Good NW Unschooling Conference next weekend. There's a family concert, a talent show, a barefoot boogie and a picnic in the park to wrap up a fun weekend.
I'm in the beginning stages of organizing a wine tasting at the Man Cabin for locally produced inexpensive wine sometime in June or July.
We aren't usually big party hosts, but now that the house remodeling is creating a more welcome space, I'm thinking of having more people over.
Other than that, we usually attend or host a party sometime throughout the summer at Lewisville Park, and beautiful riverside forested park popular for gatherings and celebrations.
We are also big fans of the summer concert in the park series in late summer. The whole family goes and enjoys the sights and smells and sounds. It's super fun.
When our yard gets in better shape (remodeling 2.0 - 2010 maybe?), we're going to have outdoor movie nights and I'm really looking forward to that.
What about you? How do you party in the summertime?

We usually grill, grill, grill. Though we did have a big fish fry once recently. :) My home is THE going to place for get togethers (I have more space and easier parking) and during the summer it seems like we have a family bash about once a month.
ReplyDeleteWe get started at Easter and go from there. (Mother's Day, Father's Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, not to mention all the birthdays and anniversaries mixed in.)
We mostly do pot-luck and then mill around socializing. It doesn't take much to keep us entertained!
You will be at LIG? Yay!!!! Us too! If you make it for registration opening, look for me at the table!
ReplyDeleteWe have more game nights during the summer months. We also have a lot of BBQs. A lot.
