It has often been said that I was born in the wrong century. And after watching the entire series of Anne of Green Gables this last weekend I would have to agree. Having always loved that series I was surprised to realize that I was more interested in the lifestyle of that period in time than I was Anne’s life. Our recent fascination with the complete series of Little House on the Prairie is another good example. Even more I dream of what it must have been like for Adam and Eve to life in the garden of Eden before the fall of man. Keeping to their crops until the cool of the evening when God would join them for a time of worship. Being on this side of the resurrection reminds me that we are all longing for that way of life. The simple life at it’s best. We are closer to that time than ever before. And for me it is a conscious choice to take my family there as often as possible, even when society makes it hard to do so.
I would have to say that the simple life found me rather than me searching for a simpler life. My life circumstances combined with my personality have made me very, very frugal. I never make purchases without doing adequate research and taking my time to ponder if the purchase is necessary. I hardly every purchase anything new and almost always sell or give items away that we are not using.
And here is my simple bio:
