Books {Jessica Huber Butler}

I wanted to share some of the simplicity/ organizing books that have been very helpful to me over the last several years. Some of these books are specifically geared toward living a more simple life, some focus on organizing and decluttering our lives, mainly in the physical realm, as in our stuff. Most are adept at getting us to look more closely at our mental {and emotional!} realm{s}, as in where did all this stuff come from, how do I spend my time and what do I want to surround myself with. I put a * next to my favorites.

**Thirty Days to a Simpler Life by Chris Evatt and Connie Cox
*Not Buying It by Judith Levine
The Complete Tightwad Gazette by Amy Dacyczyn
**Simple Living- One Couple's Search for a Better Life by Frank Levering and Wanda Urbanska
Simple Living Guide by Janet Luhrs
Voluntary Simplicity by Duane Elgin
You Can Afford to Stay Home with Your Kids by Wyckoff and Snyder
Frugal Environmentalist (a once published newsletter)
Your Money or Your Life by Joe Dominguez and Vicki Robins
*Making Peace with the Things in Your Life by Cindy Glovinsky
Confessions of an Organized Homemaker by Deniese Schofield
Paper or Plastic by Daniel Imhoff
Unplug the Christmas Machine by Jo Robinson
Live Your Life for Half the Price by Mary Hunt
Two Income Trap by E. Warren
*All Your Worth by Elizabeth Warren, etc.
Handmade Life by William Coperthwaite
*Let Go of Clutter by H. Schechter
Extreme Simplicity by Nyerges
One Thing at a Time by Cindy Glovinsky
**This Organic Life by Joan Gussow

Of course there are always more books and resources. In fact when I was checking around for some of the above titles I ran across two more and put them on reserve at the library. I will let you know if they are worth the time...

The Way of the Small- Why Less is Truly More by Michael Gellert
Zen Style- Balance and Simplicity for Your Home by Jane Tidbury

  2. The ones with the ** are my real favorites. I have taken inspiration from several sources and those stuck with me the most. I even own a couple of those which says a lot :)
